Thanks to the body language of Italians, communicating with locals is quite feasible, as their extravagant hand gestures say it all.Its well known that Italians are lively and colored people, and its also well known that they make largely use of gesturing.

This is understandable, due to the variety of people always crowding the Italian peninsula, during the millenniums of its occupation. With an assortment of languages and dialect so fulsome, its not surprising that people needed to communicate with non-verbal expressions.

Our little research about non-verbal communication examines the most frequent gestures used within the Italian cultural community and it can be used as a handy guide, either for the Italians themselves, if they are curious about their habits and the gestures origin, or for foreigners who may be rightly puzzled by some amazing "ballets", absolutely nonsensical.

This is the reason why we decided to issue the application in Italian, as well as in English.
But our desire is also to create our own community, where you will be free to "adopt" a gesture (or more than one) so to make it the representation of one of your own feelings, of your special club, of a message you would like to send.

According to this spirit, we have thought to invite you sending us suggestions about not yet described gestures, so you will contribute to increase the provided information.

The world of the Italian Gestures is funny, interesting, amusing and useful: we will be glad you join our community!
